The foundations of our Bodyshop lay where it all started back in 1988 when Andrew Harrison-Smith started it all. Born our of running an arable farming enterprise Andrew had already honed his skills fabrication, building and refurbishing equipment whilst having that keen interest in all things Land Rover and overland travel vehicles so it was an easy progression into developing Nene Overland. Andrew's life long practical skills and abilities have since developed the team at Bodyshop47 now led and managed by David Jenden, also a lifelong professional time served enthusiast. Our team is very well placed to give top quality advice and assistance to help you understand if it is the right call to modify or improve your vehicle. Our bodyshop is backed up by on-site fabricators, trimmers, electricians and engineers so there really is no job we can't cover. Our promise is to first help you understand if your project is viable and the right way forward for you to go.
VERSATILITY - WE HAVE BUILT THEM ALL
Our wealth of experience over many years can help assist you and your thoughts or initial ideas on how is best to go about your proposed refurbishment or bespoke build. We can help you understand the best way to add more seating or add space to carry a motorcycle or bicycle, create further storage, extend the body, build bespoke roof racks or even rear carriers. Game viewers, tipper bodies, wood chip bodies, pop top camper conversions, soft top conversions, longer 130 station wagon bodies and rear body builds for workshops and overland trucks, we continue to build them all so will always be delighted to hear about your project.
Fabrication
We have a very wide skill set when it comes to any body repair or modification. Our fabrication department is able to re-manufacture, modify specialist panels, door frames and other body parts that may no longer be available to order to complete the job. We are able to fold, press, and bend alloy, mild and stainless steels to complete any bespoke works. Every vehicle that arrives recieves the very best standard of high quality work. We also enjoy working with wood so for those who want bespoke camper interiors, built in gun cabinets, or load platforms and storage that may suit handmade wood finishes in conjunction with other works all is possible.
Trim and Electronics
We have on-site trim and interior experts as well as highly qualified electrical engineers who have years of experience working on all types of vehicles. Our team are able to understand level of electrical functionality and equipment required, advise on reliable makes of equipment and recommend what will be needed to drive it all for longer term reliability.
Soundproofing
We benefit from having a time served sound engineer in our team so we will be delighted to put you in touch for first class advice, solutions and installs whether you are looking to create a far quieter cabin environment, install state of the art beautiful sound, satellite navigation or hands free phone systems. Extensive soundproofing throughout your vehicle will always be the first step to enjoying a far more relaxing drive.
Soft Top builds
Over many years our enthusiasm for all things Land Rover and 4x4 have resulted in great enjoyment in crafting so many soft top fitments and builds. We work with all the major suppliers but find for the best results input of our own bespoke services can give our clients a better quality fit and finish with a few finishing touches you will not find anywhere else. Canvas or mohair can be supplied and fitted with one off design and build in conjunction with simple galvanised hood sticks for that original look whilst keeping costs down or incorporate 2 to 3 inch tubular frames for further protection and styling. Most can be anchored to chassis points to keep you and you’re passengers safe. We have onsite fabricators and trimmers so always able to add those final touches to lift style, safety, practicality and look.
Roll frame protection
In conjunction with all our other services we can incorporate build and fitment of any type or design of roll frame for further protection and on occasion styling to give you, that look. We can supply and fit cages from all the major manufactures in conjunction with roof racks, soft top conversions and further bespoke fabrication to incorporate any type, make of awning, storage box’s and other one off requirements. Can also add external windscreen styling bars to give your Defender a great look, carry further lighting and equipment. Tank Edition
Tank your truck. We have developed an amazing satin flip paint process at BODYSHOP47 to give your truck an amazing look. It works for a classic retro Defender with satin Keswick green finishes or the more creative tank flip paint process to give you a satin finish that sits cool in the shade but just takes off in that bright sunlight. We have built Defenders, Jeeps and Rangers so ready for you to throw us a challenge. We are able to work with any vehicle to craft such a unique individual look. The Red Barron
This absolute bombshell of a Defender 110 XS has been entirely crafted by our bodyshop team. Finished in Rimini Red with contrasting santorini black. Enhanced with safari snorkel, performance exhaust, raised air intake, two tone paintwork, adventure grille, black saw tooth alloys, NAS tow step, LR checker plate and gradual tinted glass. Defender 6.2 550 BHP V8
With 33 years of Nene Overland behind us we continue to deliver it all. Our strength is all those years of experience is every corner needed to continue to deliver such unique hi performing vehicles. Check his 90 out, finished in Havanna Pearl flip paint finish with Nenes 550 edition LS V8 petrol instal linked to finely tuned suspension and driveline to keep you smiling on those twisty’s as well as breaking from the green light.
Ranger Ready
Our Desert Fighter edition Ford Rangers can be fitted with a variety of Bodyshop enhancements including bespoke grills, extreme wheel arches and Lazer LED light to front roof and rear. Backed up by our Raptor coating and satin paint finish process’s

Volcano Raptor
Our long standing Hissing Sid 3.2TDci 110 demonstrator, Sid would always hiss due to 270 BHP tune from his huge variable vane turbo charger and together with his soon to be new owner totally reconfigured his look. The Santorini black body, Anthrecite roof and detailing went and in came or satin smooth Anthrecite raptor coat, new off road speck suspension, winch and full complement of Lazer lights. Wild 700 Edition
It's not just Defenders we work on! Built for performance and with an added wow factor. This Grand Cherokee SRT had been kitted out with a full engine conversion pushing out nearly 705bhp from its Whipple super charger, bespoke NeneBUILT performance exhaust, adjustable Bilstien suspension and topped off with a very mean looking body kit.
